Subject Combination / JAMB UTME Requirements


In UTME, please note that English Language is Compulsory for this course. Therefore, the three (3) other JAMB UTME subject combination needed to study Accountancy / Accounting under the Faculty of Administration in the above Universities include;

Mathematics, Economics plus any Social Science subject.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

(i) AUN same as in Finance.

(ii) BSU requires Economics.    

(iii) IUO accepts Commerce In lieu of Economics.

(iv) CARITAS requires Mathematics, Economics plus any Social Science or Arts subject.

(v) EVANGEL accepts Principles of Accounts In lieu of Mathematics.

(vi) FUDMA requires Mathematics, English Language, Economics/Financial Accounting and any other Social and Management Science subject.

(vii) UNILAG accepts Mathematics, Economics, plus one (1) Subject from the following: Financial Accounting, Further Mathematics, Geography, Government, Literature in English and Biology.

(viii) OAU requires Principles of Accounts not Commerce.

(ix) RSUST accepts Mathematics, Economics and any other subject.

(x) UNIMAID requires Mathematics, any of Principles of accounting/Economics and any other Social Science subject.

(xi) ABU requires Mathematics, Economics plus any Management or Social Science subject.

(xii) UNIPORT requires Mathematics, Economics plus any other subject from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Accounting (Financial/Business), Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics.
 

 

O'Level Requirements


The O'level subject combination and requirements needed to study Accountancy / Accounting;

You require;

Five (5) SSCE credit passes including English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) relevant subjects.

For NBC holders, the other two (2) relevant subjects could be from any of Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Office Practice and Secretarial Duties.


SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (WAIVER) REMARKS:

(i) AUN same as in Finance

(ii) BIU accepts credit/merit in English Language and Mathematics at TC II as 'O' Level equivalent.

(iii) EVANGEL- Economics is not compulsory but accepts any three (3) relevant subjects. 

(iv) FUDMA requires Five ‘O’ level Credits to include: English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Financial Accounting and any other two Management or Social Sciences subjects.

(v) FED-WUKARI – Same as in Economics.

(vi) UNIJOS in addition to the UTME requirements requires two (2) ‘O’ Level credit passes in any of Business Studies, Commerce, Government, Principles of Accounts, Geography and Biology.

(vii) UNILAG requires five (5) 'O' Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any two (2) from Financial Accounting/Principles of Accounting, Further Mathematics, Literature in English, Geography, Government, Biology, Business Management, and Data Processing/Computer Studies.

(viii) UNIPORT does not accept Commercial subjects except Financial Accounting or Business Methods/Management.

(ix) UNIPORT requires Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) subjects from Government/History, Geography, Commerce, Literature in English, CRK/IRK, Accounting (Financial/Business), Biology/Agricultural Science, Chemistry, Physics.

(x) PLASU accepts Commerce or Principles of Accounting In lieu of Economics.

(xi) UNN requires five (5) O' Level credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics Economics and any other two (2) relevant subjects.  For NBC holders, the other two (2) relevant subjects could be from any of Accounting, Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Office Practice and Secretarial Duties.

(xii) UNIUYO requires ‘O’ Level credit pass in Economics.

(xiii) LCU requires ‘O’ Level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce and any other two (2) subjects.

(xiv) AAUA requires five (5) ‘O’ Level credit passes to include  English Language, Mathematics, Economics/Commerce, and two others from Accounting/Bookkeeping, Geography and Government.

(xv) ABU requires Five (5) SSC credit passes to include English Language, Mathematics, Economics and any other two (2) other subjects. For NBC holders, the other two (2) relevant subjects could be from any of Principles of Accounts, Commerce, Office Practice and Secretarial Duties
